What are you doing for yourself?

Hey there friends!

February is here, and it’s the perfect time to pause and check in with yourself. How are you feeling? Are you fueling your body with good food and staying active? We’re not too far into the year to set (or reset) some healthy and/or new goals!

I’ve never been one for New Year's resolutions, but I like setting goals for myself. They don’t have to be big—just something you’d like to address, accomplish, or begin.

Do you have any hobbies you let fall to the wayside? Or maybe a new one you’ve been curious about?

Whether it’s dusting off your paints or diving into that book you’ve been putting off, now might be the perfect time to rediscover or explore something new.

For myself, I’ve had a fiction book in my head for the past five or so years. I know the storyline, the character's personalities, and what they look like. I’ve just not taken the time to sit and write it. Well…2025 is the year!

I sat down on my laptop and started writing, and I am fully immersed in the story with a first draft off to an editor.

When will I finish? This year, but no time is set yet. My goal was to start, and I’ve finally dug into it, and it has been so much fun! I've discovered more characters as the story unfolds, learning their quirks and learning they have their own opinions on how they want to be portrayed. They let me know. Yeah, that sounds loopy, but talk to any author, and they’ll tell you their characters speak to them. It's pretty cool.

I won’t share what the book is about now; you’ll have to wait and see! I can say it falls in the Cozy/Fantasy genre.

Speaking of writing. Would you like to become published as a co-author in the third and final Paw Prints book? You can when you share a short story about your pet and how they have enriched and/or changed your life. Think Chicken Soup For The Soul type book.

Limited spots are available, and this is the final book in the series. I'd love to read your story! Email: contact@kimlenglingauthor.com for more details. Oh! And as a bonus! Online proceeds will go to a local no-kill animal shelter! You're not only sharing your story, but you'll also be helping neglected animals in need.

So, back to you all. What’s one thing you’ve been putting off or wanting to try? Maybe now is the time to tackle it. So, get busy!

Remember, fuel your body and your soul. Read, eat healthy, get outside, try new foods, pick up a new hobby—whatever it is, let it fill you up! We've only got one life, folks. Make the most of it.

Share your goals or new hobby—I’d love to cheer you on!

Be well, stay well, and above all, be blessed!

Kim
